Arab-Andalusian Corpus information
The Arab-Andalusian music is a musical tradition that can be traced back to the 9th century in Al-Andalus, to the muslims and christians living in Moorish Spain . Arab-Andalusian Music is the result of many influences, including Middle-East Arabic classical music, the Hispanic music traditions of the Iberian peninsula, and other classical traditions such as the Gregorian and Byzantine.
The Aarab-Andalusian Music research corpus mainly consists of audio recordings with their corresponding metadata, lyrics (or sanāʾiʿ) and music scores.
Corpus Statistics
The CompMusic Andalusian corpus contains 156 audio recordings (songs) with transcriptions of 11 mizans and 13 nawbas played by different orchestras. The following table shows the distribution of the Andalusian music recordings:
